- 1949 Egyptian partners joined the firm

Established in 1875 in Alexandria under the title of Aicard & Moss, the firm was pioneer in specializing in Maritime law and was soon appointed by the Shipowners' Mutual Protection & Indemnity Associations as their primary attorneys and correspondents in the ports of Egypt.
The firm quickly built up a successful practice before the Egypt's different Courts. Over the years the firm added to its practice by expanding into: Banking, Commercial, Corporate, Intellectual Property, and Litigation Departments, which enabled the firm to represent local and multinational businesses.
In the mid nineteen eighties, Eldib was modernized to accommodate the worldwide computing and technology trends. The nineties experienced a surge of changes to legal systems all over the world and began to encompass fields including: family law, copyright and IP law in the Internet age, investment law, and real estate law among others. The firm monitored these changes as they emerged from the western world and were prepared to enter the new century with appropriate training in handling these subjects as they made their way to the Middle East and North Africa.
In 2004, Eldib expanded to Libya by opening a regional office in Tripoli in order to extend our various legal services to a promising new market.
As of January 2011 the firm changed names to Eldib - Attorneys at Law and we will continue to uphold the firm to the highest standard and reputation and are prepared to help our clients meet the legal challenges they may face.
